VASCH was proud to participate in the SMART EUREKA CLUSTER Proposers’ Day in Vienna, Austria, presenting its project, “Scalable Manufacturing of Ash-Derived Biodegradable Packaging.”
Hosted by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) , the event brought together innovators, researchers, and industry representatives to explore international collaboration in advanced manufacturing.
Advancing Sustainable Materials Through International Collaboration
VASCH’s presentation highlighted its work in transforming underutilized biomass ash into higher-value sustainable materials, with an initial focus on biodegradable non-food packaging.
The event provided an opportunity to connect with European research institutions, manufacturers, and innovation organizations to explore potential partnerships in material development, manufacturing processes, prototyping, and commercialization.
Representing Canadian Innovation
VASCH was also pleased to join the Canadian delegation led by NGen Canada , alongside other innovative Canadian companies showcasing their technologies and exploring opportunities for international collaboration.
Special thanks to Bridget Bohan and Tammy Smith at NGen Canada, and Nicole Mothes and Ronan Caillo from the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service in Austria, for their valuable support and efforts in facilitating meaningful connections throughout the event.
Participation in SMART EUREKA marks another step in VASCH’s efforts to build international research and industry partnerships.
VASCH looks forward to building on the connections established in Vienna and advancing its vision of transforming biomass ash into valuable, sustainable materials.
